The Next New Thing

My idea for a new media is an app/technology that completely digitizes all transactions involving money. Whereas Google Wallet can only send money through checking accounts, this app would unify all forms of payment (including credit cards) allowing us to have convenient control of our finances. At the same time, this technology would eliminate the use of cash/coins as well as the risk of losing bank cards. This idea could work with our smartphones, provided there is some way to make the payment directly between the phone and a retailer. Maybe one day our wallets will be obsolete.

  1. Hi, Jonathan
I think Paypal allows you to make payment through both your credit card and checking account. Also, many stores dont accept credit card because credit card company charges high processing fee. But I think it is good to digitize all transactions to eliminate counterfeit currency.

  2. This idea is great although there are probably a lot of risk with money not being physical as it's easier to hack. Your views on the wallets being obsolete is same as mine, as I no longer carry a wallet but couple of cards in a card holder!

  3. That's really a great idea to digitize all transactions. There's one more app called VENMO which is a mobile payment service that is now a part of PayPal. It allows users to pay for services to one another.

  4. I think it's a great idea. I believe in future it will be the new way for currency transactions. I also think this will make human life more safer. It will definitely reduce physical robbery and theft.
